ORGANISATIONS and HELPERS
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL	The Parish Pastoral Council of St Joseph's is made up of volunteers drawn from all parts of the parish and all areas of the village of Bonnybridge. Membership tries to represent all interests and all organisations but, as usual with all volunteer groups, we still need more members. The Parish Priest is, ex-officio, a member of the Parish Council, but the chairman is normally a parishioner.
FINANCE COMMITTEE	The Finance Committee supports the Parish Priest by discussing and overseeing proposed spending and fundraising plans. Each year the Parish Priest gives a 'state of the finances' address to an open meeting of the Parish where he highlights the income and expenditure of the past year, the current balance of accounts, and proposed spending and fundraising plans for the following year.
PASSKEEPERS	Passkeepers assist in the welcoming of parishioners (especially new parishioners) to the church. They also act as stewards inside the church (particularly on very busy occasions) take up collections, manage lost property and count attendances.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS	The Eucharistic ministers assist with the giving out of Communion under both kinds at Masses, but more importantly undertake to deliver the Eucharist to out housebound parishioners who find it impossible to attend Mass or who are in hospital. New volunteers to carry out this important function are always welcome.
ALTAR SERVERS	Our group of young altar servers serve the parish faithfully by turning up at Saturday (vigil) and Sunday Masses and also special occasion masses, weddings and funerals to assist the Parish Priest  as he celebrates Mass. Dressed in white or appropriately coloured robes, they perform an important function in our parish. Any young person who would like to be an Altar Server should contact the Parish Priest.
READERS	The Liturgy of the Word is spoken by our group of Readers. It can take a lot of courage to stand up in front of a large congregation and read passages of Scripture from the Old Testament and the New Testament. We are grateful to our volunteer readers, and especially to those young people who have recently come forward. More volunteers are always welcome.
MUSIC LITURGY	Singing is very important to our Parishioners and we are grateful for the assistance given by our organists and other musicians who take the time to practice and accompany us whenever they can.
CHILDREN'S LITURGY	Our young children benefit greatly (and so do their parents!) from the work of a dedicated group of volunteers who bring them into the parish house at the beginning of Mass for their own special version of the Sunday liturgy and returning after the offertory (and the sermon!) bearing samples of their work and prayers formed during their own special time.
SUNDAY TEAS	A special feature of St Joseph's is the opportunity to meet fellow parishioners in the church hall on Sundays after Mass for a cup of tea or coffee, some home baking and a chat. Our thanks to our team of 'tea ladies' who keep the tradition going.
CLEANERS, COUNTERS and GARDENERS	As with most church organisations there are many people in the background who do the essential, if less glamorous, tasks. Our thanks to those who give up their time to keep the church and house clean, the collections counted and who help keep the gardens looking so well.
ST VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETY	Though small in number the members of the SVdP in the parish continue to do the work of the Society in doing what they can to help those in our society who are most in need.
ST JOSEPH'S PRIMARY SCHOOL	Situated immediately beside the church this small, modern primary school maintains close contact with the parish. It also boasts a popular nursery unit open to all denominations from the village.
